Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites

Have you ever had about 8 hours free? No? OK, then you might want to skip this one. Well, perhaps not 8 hours, after all I did somehow get a haircut and watch a fair amount of television in the middle of all this kitchen activity. So set aside a Sunday or snow day (just kidding, no more!) or a day when you play hooky to create these chocolate and peanut butter filled pretzels.

Lemon Curd Linzer Torte

I'm quite convinced that lemon curd is an elixir from the gods. Especially when I can make it in five minutes in the microwave.  So to stop myself from eating it by the spoonful I've been finding new ways to incorporate it in to desserts. These were delicious. This improvised linzer torte is fantastic.

Ginger Molasses Cookies

There has been a bottle of molasses sitting in my kitchen ever since I made gingerbread men, and I hadn't thought of one thing to do with it. Do be honest I was still pretty put off by the smell of it - not pleasant at all. But these ginger molasses cookies? Extremely pleasant. Exceptionally pleasant. So pleasant...I ate about 10 of them.

Dutch Apple Pie - Happy Pi(e) Day!

Happy Pi(e) Day! I have so many more things to share with you in the coming weeks, but I had to offer you a delicious pie recipe for this holiday. And why would you want to celebrate Pi without Pie?

Chocolate, Raspberry and Coconut Hamantaschen

It's that time of year again...Purim! For my gentile friends, this Jewish holiday, coming up on March 20, is a day of festivities filled with costumes, gifting of food and a big, festive meal. It is also traditionally marked by eating triangle shaped cookies, commonly known as hamataschen.

Lemon Meringue Thumbprint Cookies

I've been working on variation of these cookies for a long time - with a sugar cookie dough, in a larger size, the curd added before or after baking...but my work is finally and truly done with these. A bite of crispy sweet meringue with just a touch of mouth-puckering lemon curd: perfection.

Red Grapefruit Squares

These look like lemon squares, don't they. Well they're not! I'm not sure why I get so much joy from hypothetically proving you wrong, but I do. These here are red grapefruit squares. Why are they so yellow? Same reason that lemon squares are yellow - the egg yolks.

Pumpkin Pie Bars

Is it still winter? The sun ins shining, but only half the snow has melted. One day it was 65 F, the next 35 F. One day I'm making Coconut Grapefruit Cupcakes, and the next...Pumpkin Pie Bars. Is everyone over the pumpkin thing yet? Or has it been long enough since Thanksgiving that pumpkin is now back in style?
